About ProjectYards

ProjectYards is a free calculator hub built for homeowners and contractors who need a fast, accurate answer to one question: how much material do I need? Every calculator uses documented construction formulas and material densities. See our Methodology page for the cited sources.

Our approach

Each calculator targets one material or task and answers it in seconds: enter your dimensions, get the quantity and cost. The formulas follow standard construction practice: the Portland Cement Association for concrete, the National Asphalt Pavement Association for asphalt, the NEC for electrical, and manufacturer specifications for coverage rates. We did not make up the figures. We show a worked example on every page so you can check the math yourself, and a plain disclaimer that these are estimates: verify quantities with your supplier, and confirm structural or electrical work with a licensed professional.
