This policy explains what information ProjectYards (projectyards.com, "we", "us") collects when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. ProjectYards is a free set of construction and landscaping calculators. You do not need an account, and the calculators run entirely in your browser: the dimensions and prices you type are never sent to us or stored on our servers.

Information we collect

• Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers receive standard technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location (city or country, derived from your IP address), browser and device type, the page that referred you, and the time of your visit.
• Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply.

We do not collect names, addresses, payment details, or other personal information through the calculators, and we do not sell personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. ProjectYards itself does not need cookies to work. The third-party services described below may set cookies or use similar technologies (such as device identifiers) for analytics and advertising.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which calculators are useful and how visitors find them. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect usage data in aggregate. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps the calculators free.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info, or, in the EU, at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
• If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized to you.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through a consent message provided by Google. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link in that message.

Affiliate links

Some pages include links to retailers such as Home Depot. If you buy through these links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow a link to a retailer, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to ask for it to be deleted or corrected, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. Because we do not keep personal profiles, most of this data is held by the providers above, and their controls (linked in each section) are the fastest way to act. For anything we hold, such as an email you sent us, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

ProjectYards is intended for adults planning building and landscaping projects. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
